Some info about Chicane:

At the height of trance music in the late 90s, you couldn’t bring up the word “Chicane” without drawing associations to the airy, summery, Ibiza sound so prevalent in the island party capital. Solid trance anthems like “Offshore”, “Sunstroke”, “Saltwater”, and the heartrending chill-out classic “No Ordinary Morning” have made Chicane mastermind Nick Bracegirdle a hero to look up to for music-lovers all over the globe who long to hear those hypnotic vocals, calming sea sounds, and moving melodies that bring to mind the breathtaking beaches and captivating sunsets of the beautiful Balearic paradise.
But the talented auteur showed that he was so much more than “the godfather of the Ibiza anthem”. He left the familiar niche that made him famous and ventured into new territory via a part-rocking, part-grooving full-band sound. Nick returned to his songwriting roots; gathered up an impressive rotating lineup of singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers, and flutists; took his place as bandleader behind the keyboard; and the rest is history.
In 2006, Nick and the rest of Chicane showed off the group’s refreshing guitar-driven sensibilities with “Stoned in Love”, a track that features American music icon Tom Jones belting out his unmistakable vocals. In that same year, thousands of loyal Manila-based fans witnessed Nick and his talented posse play a magnificent set at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Even Nick found the Manila shindig a night to remember! “It was a great gig,” he says of the memorable event.
In 2007, Chicane let loose with “Somersault”, an album that is an exciting hybrid of electronic, rock, pop, indie, and other elements that remains totally dance-worthy despite its eclecticism. This radical departure from Chicane’s initial Ibiza trance leanings did nothing to harm Nick’s, and consequently Chicane’s, stellar reputation in the global dance community. Chicane has remained a solid act, with both their live and recorded stuff drawing heaps and heaps of praise from dance music lovers everywhere.
Always in demand even as a solo act, Nick has worked with American star Bryan Adams on the UK number one hit “Don’t Give Up”, has co-written and produced some tracks for timeless diva Cher’s album “Living Proof”, and has produced remixes for Everything But The Girl, BT, Jose Padilla, and Enigma.
